Flowers for the weekend

White Roses are supposed to mean eternal love while Geraniums mean "gentility", according to the Language of Flowers!

Surprise! Snow!

Got a surprise snowstorm this morning.  Gave us a couple of inches but the sun came out & it's mostly melted by now.

Looked pretty while it was going on, though. :)

Back to the park

Went back to the park today.  The sky was gorgeous - blue with lovely puffy clouds.  The lake was mostly quiet.  Most of the lake is still icy but the edges are mostly thawed.  One side, where I was, had some chunks of ice "pushed" up against the shore.  The ice was beautifully sparkling in the sunshine.

This one looks kind of heart shaped  from this angle.  That's why I call it My Ice Cold Heart. ;)

got flowers

I'd forgotten (believe it or not) how much I love macro photography 'til I got these flowers & started on them.  I love being able to see those things that most people wouldn't notice until they're pointed out.
Really amazing stuff. :)

Amazing Morning Sky

Hudson River, facing south-east,  NYC is to the right of the photo, farther south.   Looks as though this was taken at sunrise or sunset, but it was actually about 9:30am.

The ice in the river almost matches the clouds in the sky.

Taken in Nyack, NY - bridge is Tappan Zee bridge connecting Rockland County, NY to Westchester County, NY

Wintry Lake

A cold, windy day at the frozen lake.

Mother Nature trying her hand at sculpture -- doesn't the piece on the right resemble a frog - with horns?
