Birds

This morning we have a perfectly clear blue sky, but the clouds are due to move in this evening bringing more snow. For now, it's perfect for some bird-watching. :) Some crows came into the area this morning.

A woodpecker stopped by for a suet breakfast.

Ginger

Here's the cat who made the prints on the ice looking for a drink at the pond.

cat prints on the pond

There's a stray cat we call Ginger who seems to have adopted us. He can usually be found around our house. Of course it doesn't hurt that we put cat food out for him. He gets his water from our little pond. On the colder days like today, he'll try to step out onto the ice to get closer to the spot that's cleared of ice. I'm surprised that the ice holds his weight. Here's what I found this afternoon.

Shadows on the Ice

The snow has developed a crust of ice which glistens in the morning sun. Here is the shadow of a tree on the glistening snow.

Clouds

I was thinking, I probably should have named this blog "Fun with Clouds" or something like that. LOL More and more lately, I find myself fascinated with clouds. Don't get me wrong, I love a clear blue sky on a bright sun-shining day, but clouds add interest. If we had clear, blue skies everyday, it'd be boring. You never see the same cloud formations every day, or even, usually, from hour to hour! So, here's more of my cloud observations. I hope you like them.
